Beach proposal ideas
What to check before you plan a shoreline proposal: access, wind, and a dry backup.
Updated October 11, 2026 · Nliminal, LLCDraft for human review. This page is not published advice. Anything marked (to verify) is not confirmed. Operated by Nliminal, LLC.
A beach photo and a beach you are allowed to use are different things. This draft does not list permit fees or "best beaches," because those change and we have not verified a list.
Before you promise a shoreline
- Name the exact beach, not the city.
- Read that beach's current rules on the park, city, or county page. (to verify)
- Visit once at the same time of day. Wind, weddings, and lifeguard hours do not show up in a postcard.
- If you want sunrise, look up the sunrise for that date from a weather service. Do not trust a blog's "around 6 a.m." (to verify)
A workable sequence
Arrive while it is still easy to park. Stand where you are not in a path or on a dune if the signs say to stay off. Ask. Then move to the car or a café. Sand is a poor place to linger if either of you is cold.
Photos
Golden hour is just the hour before sunset or after sunrise. It is not a reservation. If a photographer is part of the plan, they need the same permission you do to be on that beach. Confirm their rate and the meeting point yourself. (to verify)
Backup
The backup is an indoor table, not a different beach in the rain. Tell yourself the backup the day before so it is a decision you already made.
